I’m an avian biologist studying wild populations of Scaly-breasted Munias. I use these bands to identify individuals in the field. They are the perfect size for my subjects at 2.3mm ID. The bands open and close well. If you’re doing hundreds of birds like I am, get the metal applicator. Pro tip, don’t open bands prior to use as they will create a memory of being open and not close up again. Look small but are not. Fit perfect for zebra, Star face, spice, society etc type finches. Not recommended for canaries.
